Updated December 4, 2019: The Outlast Trials is the next entry in the Outlast saga. It's not a direct sequel to the other critically-acclaimed Outlast games, but it's right in the middle of the Cold War era. The Outlast Trials will allow players to face the horrors by themselves or play with up to three other test subjects. No trailer was revealed, so we'll keep you posted when it drops.

Outlast is one of the best horror games out there, and after Outlast 2, may gamers were left wondering what's next for the franchise. Today, developer The Red Barrels, posted a cryptic image on its Twitter account saying that an announcement was coming soon.

Hopefully, this is Outlast 3 and not an expansion. It probably is a new game because it's been a few years since Outlast 2 launched and, I'm positive I remember that the developer said that Outlast 2 wasn't getting any expansions. However, only time will tell. We'll keep you posted as soon as an official reveal occurs.
